UX Research Portfolio

This Iterative Design Research portfolio  encompasses game, mobile, e-commerce and search usability research.

With over 10 years as User Researcher, Usability Engineer, and Funologist, I have a breadth of experience with traditional lab testing and discount research methods, including heuristic reviews, field interviews, focus groups, and remote testing. I have used Morae, Ovo and Silverback along with video editing tools like iMovie, Camtasia and Windows Movie Maker for creating highlight clips.

I integrate state-of-the-art tools of the trade like Loop11, SurveyGizmo, and Chalkmark to speed up delivery of results to teams. This flexibility and innovation is what helps me produce results on time and on budget.

My research coincides with weekly or bi-monthly sprints to increase efficiency for agile engineering teams. I implement these strategie:

  • Involve research partners when the user’s voice is time-critical.
  • Design and conduct user research studies, including surveys, usability studies, field studies, focus groups, concept testing, messaging tests and brand tracking studies.
  • Co-create paper and online prototypes with recommendations to improve productivity and clarity in meetings
  • Incorporate remote research software and survey tools and competitive A-B testing in sync with lab usability studies.
  • Schedule usability bash parties (like a bug bash, but with a usability focus) from sprint zero to kick-off research initiatives.
  • Collaborate with product, design and marketing teams to develop research plans and define and prioritize research questions.
  • Communicate research findings, and make and defend recommendations, across organizations.
  • Drive product and marketing improvements in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Manage outside research projects from inception to conclusion, including managing RFP processes, recommending appropriate methodologies, and managing vendor relationships to produce reports meeting desired information objectives.
  • Identify and synthesize secondary research to complement primary research.
